Listen to the BATS recreation of those events leading up to the wrecking of The Caesar at Pwll Du Head in 1760 and the aftermath for those involved.

At least 68 men died. They were discovered and later buried in a narrow valley in the rocks by villagers from Pennard. It appears on the map as Gravesend. We do not know their names and their deaths have never been officially acknowledged but they were travelling at the command of the Royal Navy, rounded up by ruthless Press Gangs to crew the ships and fight for their country.
