W12P's Joel Bennett is delighted at the start made by Eurovision in Wales at Oystermouth Radio and still belives that the project will grow even more this year.
"We are out of the genesis stage of the project with Show Six due for broadcast this Thursday and it is fair to say still learning but I couldn't be more pleased with the response to the show both here in the community, across Wales and the UK but more so on the Continent and even further afield".
The show is currently attracting a figure in excess of 2,000 listeners each month which does not include Smart Phone listeners and Podcast downloads from Radio International servers in the Netherlands.
Joel has forged a special relationship with Jeurgen J.P Boering who is a leading figure in the Eurovision movement and host of Radio International in the Netherlands.
"JP is a very nice natured guy and his help and guidance is somewhat showing in the preliminary success that we are enjoying here in Wales right now."
This news comes the same week that David Mann, himself an authority on Eurovision and very experienced within the Eurovision movement, joins W12P as a presenter from Eurovision Norwich.
"Again, the addition of David to the team has been a magnificent boost as we don't want to rest on our laurels. The more varied listening content we get the better and we are always on the look out for bright presnters and material whether it is within the local area or abroad."
It is still undecided when this first season of W12P will come to an end if at all but if does, there will for sure be a second season and it will hopefully be here at Oystermouth Radio.
"We are of course in a very unpredictable industry but whatever happens over the next two months or so will benefit both Oystermouth Radio and W12P. Both projects have very special places in my heart and there has been so much work that has gone on here in he community by the likes of Peter Tremewan, Paul Stephens, Malcolm Poole and many others but of course we saw the inclusion of some exceptional presenters including Michael Kennedy and today's major driving force; Programme Controller Grant Eden".
